Not registered in Ontario

Why their offers look better
A registered operator carries costs an unregistered one does not: segregated player funds, game testing, the provincial self-exclusion system, advertising restrictions, a compliance department and a share of revenue to the province. Strip all of that out and you can afford a bigger welcome bonus. The generous offer is not a sign of a generous operator. It is the arithmetic of not being regulated, handed back to you at the front door.
What you actually give up
- Dispute resolution. With a registered operator, an unresolved complaint can go to the Registrar. With an unregistered one, your escalation path ends at the operator's own support desk.
- Segregated funds. Registered operators must hold player balances apart from operating money. If an unregistered site fails, your balance is one unsecured claim among many, in a jurisdiction you have never visited.
- Working self-exclusion. Ontario's self-exclusion applies across every registered operator at once. An unregistered site is not part of that system, which is exactly why they remain reachable to someone who has excluded themselves.
- Tested games. Registered operators submit their games for independent testing. Elsewhere you are trusting the operator's own word about its own maths.
Names you will come across
